Wharton State Forrest is very close to where I live. There are an endless amount of places to paint here. I have never attempted to paint famous places like the Grand Canyon or the Matterhorn. The truth is, I just don’t have a desire to. Is that weird? Those places would be amazing to see, but I do not imagine I would paint them. I have a belief that you have to have a connection to a place to put in the heart and soul to paint it. My remote, hidden little creeks, pools and sunsets glimpsed between pines are sublime-and they are mine. I am, however, very pleased to share them here.
