This tree caught my eye on a hike one day. It had not yet blossomed, and I was not sure what species it was. I wondered if it was just a late bloomer or perhaps it had already seen its last season. I thought it was still quite pretty the way it was capturing light, bringing beauty regardless. It deserved to be painted so I did this sketch. Now, this tree is still remembered and admired; perhaps even for a few hundred more years.
