Sometimes we don’t have to plan in advance in the pursuit of artmaking. Sometime, on the way to pick up dinner, you glimpse an amazing sunset scene. My Android is the next best thing when I don’t have the paints with me (and supper is getting cold). I may also scribble myself some notes because I know the phone cam will not exactly capture what my eye can see (“looks like Vermillion mixed with Cadmium Orange”). There is always a work-around. The feel of the moment is as, or more important than being perfectly accurate. Painting sunsets is a moving target anyway!
